Meet the team
Jenny Brown established the agency in 2002. She was previously Head of Literature at the Scottish Arts Council, presenter of book programmes for Scottish Television, and founder Director of the Edinburgh International Book Festival (of which she is now a Board member). She is also a Committee member of the Association of Authors’ Agents. She represents 35 writers, predominantly in the areas of literary fiction and non-fiction, crime fiction, and memoir.
After working in publishing for more than seven years, Mark Stanton (Stan) joined Jenny in 2004. He represents over fifty writers, from an array of genres including: literary fiction, crime and thrillers and non-fiction – particularly in the areas of sport and popular culture.
Joining in October 2005, Allan Guthrie is the winner of the Theakston's Crime Novel Of The Year 2007, for his debut novel, Two-Way Split. Hard Man (2007) won the inaugural Spinetingler award for Best Novel (New Voice). His novels have also been shortlisted for the CWA Debut Dagger, MWA Edgar, Anthony and Gumshoe awards. He has worked in the book trade since 1996 and is a commissioning editor for cult US crime publisher, PointBlank Press. He represents around 15 novelists.
Lucy Juckes represents writers and illustrators for children. She was previously co-founder and Managing Director of Barrington Stoke, the children's publisher specialising in books for reluctant readers. Lucy has also worked as Sales Director of Bloomsbury.
